The Essential Facts about Oils

Katherine Fleming has a background in writing for television, but it is her passion for the healing powers of essential oils that were broadcast in a Saturday night seminar at Ashiyu last week.

A small crowd relaxed in the foot spas at Ashiyu in Southeast Portland while Kat explained the many beneficial uses of the oils, which are distilled from the juices of special plant matters. Peppermint oil for instance can soothe achy stomachs, while applied topically it is known for relieving joint pain. Kat emphasized the importance of using therapeutic-grade oils, such as those offered by Young Living, and featured many of the blends they have developed. With names like Clarity and Valor, the blends offer a spiritual as well as physical benefit. Kat directed the attendees to write down thoughts from their core beliefs, then explained how the right blends can help manifest those beliefs in daily life. With personal stories, solid background in the science of aromatherapy, and a wonderful selection of free samples, Kat gave her listeners good reason to get excited about the presentation.

More information about the healing power of essential oils can be found at

Ashiyu has invited Katherine to return for another presentation in the coming months.
