Ashiyu Foot Spa in Sellwood has remodeled their storefront to offer a new approach to fitness that avoids the rigors of the traditional workout. Titled the “Passive Fitness Workout” the routine starts with a soak in the hot jetted foot spas that Ashiyu pioneered in 2006. The regime continues with a session on the whole body vibration platform to massage the lower legs, and a spine-stretching visit to the inversion table. Next clients enjoy a half-hour session on the jade-roller massage bed to work out kinks in the back and shoulders, followed by a session in Ashiyu’s infrared sauna to relax stubborn tension and detoxify. Througout the workout clients are served ionized alkaline water, a revolutionary health drink the provides increased hydration at the cellular level. The common theme of optimum fitness with minimum effort runs throughout. The complete session takes about 90 minutes and is introductory priced at $29, or $49 for two people. Contact Ashiyu at 503-232-0920 for more information, or visit Ashiyu in Sellwood at 8015 SE 13th Ave. Online at www.ashiyu.com.
